We'll be playing Metal Monday at Headhunter's in Austin on March 5th.  It's a free show, starting at 9pm, featuring: The Blood Royale, Nekrist, Whore Hole, Anesthesia, and Brontosaurus.

Ethereal Architect is proud to announce the title of their upcoming release: Monolith.  Due out later this spring, the sophomore album contains nine new tracks from the progressive metal quartet.  Hailing from Austin, Texas, Ethereal Architect made waves in 2007 with their critically-acclaimed debut, Dissension. The follow-up features a new lineup with the addition of fretless bassist, Thad Stevens.  The track listing and artwork can be viewed below.

As you can see, we have found our new bass player, Thad Stevens.  Head over to our bio page to read all the juicy gossip on the newest member of EA.  Rest assured he is locked in a dungeon somewhere learning all of our songs so he can begin recording as soon as possible.   We want to thank all the bass players who took the time to learn our songs and audition.  We were very fortunate to be contacted by a lot of really talented musicians and to be able to choose from such a great pool of candidates.  That being said, we're very excited about adding Thad to the band.  Honestly, this video doesn't do him justice, you've got to see him play - the guy's a beast.  Anyway, the album details and many other sexy updates will be coming soon.  Also, the first shows in support of the new album will be happening early next year.  Stay tuned comrades.

We'll be unveiling the details and artwork of our new album next month!

We are currently looking for a new bass player.  Although it wasn't announced, Darby retired from the band earlier this year.  We didn't hold open auditions after his departure, but have been working with a friend of ours who quickly stepped in on bass duties.  Unfortunately, things did not work out, so we'll be holding auditions next month.  If you live in central Texas and are interested in the position please shoot me an e-mail: info@etherealarchitect.com

We'll still be pressing on with the new album at full-speed.  We've completed 90% of the recording and are planning to release it early next year.  More updates on the album itself will be forthcoming.

EA took a brief respite from recording in August, but have no fear, progress was made.  I tore down the EA studio, moved into a nicer location, and just today finished the rebuild.  I also bought some fancy new toys for recording so I'm eager to get back to work on the album and try them out.  Unfortunately, this means there won't be a studio diary for August, but I will start recording the keyboards in September post some footage.

Our bass player, Darby, has been out of the country for an extended period and is returning next week, so full band rehearsals will commence very shortly.  We'll get him up to speed on all the new material, prep him for recording, and maybe even play a couple of shows before the release party.  I'll try and grab some rehearsal footage to post as well!

Our sophomore album is now officially underway!  We just began pre-production this past week - I have been busy preparing clicks and setting up backing tracks.  Adam will begin recording his guide vocals next week and we'll be tracking drums shortly thereafter.  We're in the process of drawing out the schedule for the entire production, but it looks like the new album will come out on the cusp of the new year.  We will launch a video diary of the entire process so you'll have a chance to see all the behind-the-scene footage and maybe get some early tastes of the new album.  Stay Tuned!
